Who are we?
healthAbility, as the name suggests, plays a unique and valuable role in the health system. We work to address the root causes of vulnerability, prevent disease and promote lifelong health outcomes, empowering people in our community to live their best life.

Our role is also supporting people to self-manage long-term health conditions, such as diabetes and mental health challenges, with multidisciplinary teams delivering community-based programs in a comfortable setting. We also support people, including older people and people with disability, to stay living at home longer and to live well in their community. 

Our broad range of primary health services, care management and in home and community support services can be tailored to an individual’s needs and with major hubs in Box Hill and Eltham, these services can be delivered locally, in the Eastern and North Eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

Job Description

The opportunity:
We are looking for an Executive – Primary & Complex Care to join our supportive and professional multidisciplinary teams on an 18 Month Fixed-Term Contract.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to;

  • Leadership guidance for a range of Programs including Allied Health, Aged Care and Oral Health.
  • Leadership at the organisational level as well as in the Programs for which the Executive is responsible.
  • Delivery of the strategic plan.
  • Business development and sustainable growth, through providing clients with a breadth of offerings, geographic expansion between sites, volume growth in existing services, and introduction of new services.
  • Management of client expectations and service delivery
  • Development of efficient systems and processes; and carefully manage costs to achieve budget.
  • Negotiation of annual funding agreements and service targets and ongoing monitoring, reporting and review of performance.
  • Setting service priorities that reflect community needs, government policy direction and strategic directions of the organisation.
  • Provide strong leadership and guidance to their people leaders, promoting a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Desired Skills and Experience

Our ideal candidate:

  • Extensive Leadership experience, preferably in healthcare
  • Demonstrated experience working as member of high performing Executive team
  • Understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance, and client safety standards
  • Proven history of driving operational excellence and process improvement
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets
  • Proven history of delivery of business development and growth targets
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to make data driven decisions
  • Demonstrated commitment to client-centred care and organisational vision
