healthAbility, as the name suggests, plays a unique and valuable role in the health system. We work to address the root causes of vulnerability, prevent disease and promote lifelong health outcomes, empowering people in our community to live their best life.

Our role is also supporting people to self-manage long-term health conditions, such as diabetes and mental health challenges, with multidisciplinary teams delivering community-based programs in a comfortable setting. We also support people, including older people and people with disability, to stay living at home longer and to live well in their community.

Our broad range of primary health services, care management and in home and community support services can be tailored to an individual’s needs and with major hubs in Box Hill and Eltham, these services can be delivered locally, in the Eastern and North Eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

Job Description

The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a Quality Business Partner to join our Quality & Risk team as a central player in driving innovation and continuous improvement across healthAbility

In this pivotal role, you’ll:

  • Partner with leaders to embed best practice in quality, clinical safety, and risk management.
  • Coordinate audits, review clinical incidents , and strengthen care governance and Quality assurance and compliance frameworks.
  • Act as healthAbility Client Safety Officer which may include the child safety, suicide response and diversity.
  • Support accreditation readiness, governance reporting, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Be a trusted advisor, empowering staff to deliver safe, high-quality services.

Desired Skills and Experience

Our ideal candidate:

You’re a detail-oriented problem solver who thrives on building strong relationships and turning complex standards, regulations into practical solutions. You’ll bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in health, human services, or related fields.
  • Experience with quality, risk, and/or clinical incident management in health or community services.
  • Knowledge of accreditation frameworks (e.g. NSQHS, Aged Care, Health and Human Services and/or NDIS).
  • Strong communication, coaching, and analytical skills.
  • A passion for continuous improvement and safe, person-centred care.
  • A passion to ensuring a health or community service aims to always provide safe high-quality care for every client every time. 
  • Capacity to take initiative and engage in the planning, implementation and evaluation of services and programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible, responsive to change with an interest in ongoing learning.
  • Experience in community health or not-for-profit sectors will be highly regarded.
